Since becoming friends with Erin close to five years ago, I often think to myself "she has the same 24 hours in a day that I do, right?" She always seems to be accomplishing so much. Like working on amazing projects for her blog, Apartment 34, or throwing beautiful dinner parties or traveling to some cool new locale. And this year she added one of her biggest and most exciting roles to date, becoming a mama to her beautiful son Carter. Since it's so easy to forget what those sweet newborn days are like, I couldn't wait to catch-up on how motherhood is going so far, and how this busy mama juggles it all. You can also shop Erin's curated collection of favorites here!
Bitte Blog
Sweet Treat: Strawberry Galette
My favorite thing about summer is the abundance of fresh produce. A trip to our local farmers market this past weekend inspired me to revisit this old recipe I made for Rue Magazine a couple years ago. It's a super easy dessert to make with kids and they'll definitely enjoy the fruits of their labor. I used strawberries this time but you can sub in any fruit of your choosing.
Tastemaker Talk: Ashley Muir Bruhn
I’m lucky enough to call Ashley a friend, but I originally discovered her blog Hither & Thither many years ago, long before we met. I love Ashley’s blog because reading it makes you feel like you’re having a great conversation with a good friend. A friend that has a fountain of knowledge on everything from where to stay with kids when traveling to Mexico City to the best baby registry picks, to how to design a nursery the size of a closet! So I thought who better to kick-off our tastemaker series with. In addition to hand selecting her favorite Bitte items, which you can shop here. Below she has answered some of our questions about motherhood, blogging and how she makes traveling with kids look so effortless.
Maker Story: Petit Collage
With an emphasis on clean, mid-century design and sustainable materials Petit Collage was one of the first brands we knew we wanted to carry on Bitte. Many of my own daughters first toys were from Petit Collage and for good reason. Designer and founder Lorena has such a great eye for creating the types of items that really stand the test of time and many years of exuberant play. I recently got the opportunity to check out her beautiful San Francisco based studio and ask her a couple questions about work, life and current inspirations.
Welcome!
Woohoo! Bitte is finally open! After many months of building and buying, creating and curating, we’ve finally “arrived”. We really feel that we’ve created a unique new online shopping experience for parents. Every item was chosen with a focus on sustainable practices and modern design.
